Hi neighbors,
A quick reminder: Byron Wild is hosting the first meeting of GNA’s relaunched Environmental Committee tomorrow, Saturday, from 4 to 6 PM, around a backyard fire pit at his house.
It’s open to any and all who want to share ideas about environmental issues that would benefit the neighborhood. You don’t need to join the committee to come. Byron will have cider and snacks, and kids are welcome.

Wheaton Master Plan
A new crosswalk signal on Georgia Avenue, and more ways to weigh in
Montgomery Planning shared a few updates on the Master Plan for Wheaton. The next chance to weigh in is the visioning workshop on Thursday, November 5, and the online questionnaire is open now.

From Montgomery Planning
A HAWK signal is coming to Georgia Avenue and Evans Drive
Planned Vision Zero safety improvements at that intersection include a HAWK (High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk) signal. It stays dark until someone presses the button to cross, then stops traffic so people can get across Georgia Avenue safely.
Nearby, the renovation of Carroll Knolls Park is nearly done. It’s expected to open later this year with a pump track, a bicycle skills area, a playground and a plaza with shaded pavilions and picnic tables.
